[9.6/10] Easily the best sounding blackened death/thrash this side of The Crown's "Eternal Death", with lungs and screams sounding like Tompa (1min05, on ''Moloch'' simply delivers 1 of the most effective ''Go"' ever caught on record this side of Tompa's Disfear. Listen to this if you care about the likes of Destroyer 666, Aura Noir, Krisiun's "Black Force Domain". Cannot say how this will fare at the end of the year compared to other records... but chances are this will still be in my top 10.

The lofi approach of the recording and the sound of the drums makes this a must have for fans of the post-core black metal sound... you won't find this kind of music in stores but once you've heard the melancholic hymns of Ancst you might find what had been the missing link between hardcore and black metal, with a pinch of The Crown thrown in for brutality. [4.9 / 5]

Clear vinyl looks amazing, black pressing's great as well. The CD has 4 bonus cuts from their recent splits w/ Abolitionist / King Apathy. The new cuts are from a solid slab of Crusty Blackened Metalcore with Post-Metal cred from the sessions of "Ghost of the Timeless Void". Don't miss the CD if you need the whole lot of cuts, otherwise this is an EP that'S 4 cuts deep with a variety of new melodies and brutality with the crusty overtones of the sound Ancst dishes out consistently. I bought this album having never heard, or heard of, these guys. I ain't finding no blackened crust in this. What I am finding is some really good blackened emotive hardcore. They kind of remind me of a Have Heart with some trem-picked, blast-beaten parts. Good album.
